7.) Joy Divison : Miriam Collection
Seems like this past year was great for Joy Division enthusiasts. The very little footage is coveted. Here we get interviews with the remaining members. We get funny little stories and even from Ian Curtis’s estranged lover. Worth checking out if you’re a Joy Division fan.

8.) 9.) Classic Albums : Plastic Ono Band / The Doors
The classic albums series gave us John Lennons : Plastic Ono Band (my favorite John Lennon solo record) and The Doors : Self-Titled making of. Unfortunately, both of these singers have passed, but we can hear the master tapes and the people that helped create these masterpieces. For Lennon, we get Ringo Starr and bassist Klaus Voorman describe their parts on the album. We find out that Phil Spector didn’t have much to do with this album even though he was given credit as a producer. The Doors first album is similar and we again find out how Robbie Krieger wrote “Light My Fire”. What’s great about this dvd is you get to see up close Robbie’s playing and hear the crooning that Jim Morrison did on “Crystal Ship”. Both Classic Album DVDs are worth checking out.
