The coda sounds like it has pan flutes in the background as sort of a call to the end to the Limbo. “Peace Officer” sounds a bit like “Buffalo Soldier”, but has a better guitar rhythm track and the groove that works well with the dance-able drumbeat. The vocal phrasing is great on “Hanging Fire”, but it gets repeated so much that you wonder if he had anything else to say. The last track “Now and Forever” is a ballad not worth listening to.
In conclusion, Jimmy Cliff – We All Are One is worth a spin for the few hidden gems, but the suggested buy would be the The Harder They Come soundtrack which includes greats like Desmond Dekker, Toots & the Maytals, The Melodians, and The Slickers.
It’s worth noting that after recording and getting paid for his first single he splurged like Ozzy by buying clothes and food (chicken).
