This time around Joe had some fresh material to present. He played several tunes off his latest album Have Faith along with several of his old classics. Click on the image to purchase his CD’s. The new songs held up well and fit into his set perfectly. The guitarist was on fire and the rhythm section held the groove nice and tight.
Intveld also had two special guests this night. James brought out his father on stage to sing a tune or two. His father did a stunning rendition of Elvis’s “It’s Now or Never.” If you closed your eyes, then you would darn near swear it was Elvis himself. His enthusiasm is very contagious. So proud of his son as I bet he is. James sister was in the audience and he gave her a holler, as well. The other special guest was a great accordion player that added to the dance vibe.
Before he took left the stage he mentioned that he was heading out 1500 miles to Colorado. You tend to forget that he’s going to be on the freezing road for a few months or weeks and you can rest in your warm bed at home. James always takes time to meet his fans afterward. The most sincere and cool headed musician you will meet. You will wonder why James Intveld is not a big name after seeing him. Even if he’s not huge as far as media is concerned, he is highly regarded by anyone in the rockabilly subculture.
